To size the vest for your own body, measure from the armpit to the lower part of the torso:

Size 1 - XS - (Ages 7 - 9) = 31"
Size 2 - S - (Ages 10 - 12) = 34" - Fits Bobby Bully
Size 3 - M - Teen+ = 37" - Fits BOB, Wavemaster
Size 4 - L - Adult = 40" - Fits BOB XL, Wavemaster XXL
